History of Nigeria
Nigeria is located in West Africa. It borders Niger in the north, Benin in the west, Chad and Cameroon in the east. Nigeria got its independence on October 1, 1960 from Britain. The estimated population of Nigeria is roughly 200 million, making it the most populous country in Africa and the seventh most populous in the worldafter China and india.More than 100 million of its population are under the age of 18. Due to corrupt leaders, inequality in wages and political instability, roughly 60 percent live in poverty. Nigeria has a very low “Human Development Index of 152nd in the world. The current minimum wage is #18,000. Which is currently equivalent to $50 a month.
